With the methyl bromide becoming currently harder to get. What are turf Producers using to prep fields for new planting. Is there some new practices or chemicals available for fumigation in soils prior to planting? I have been told about a chemical VaPam (S.p.) does anyone have knowledge or have use this chemical for this use. If not perhaps other reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

We have tried VaPam with some success it doesn't work as well with Methyl Bromide we had about 85 - 90% control which I found unacceptable. We had better success with basamid by BASF it had excellent control the problem is that it is very difficult to work with in a production situation. Needs to be watered in and the soil need to be kept saturated for 3 days. Trying to plant after without working up the soil becomes the major issue.
