Position Summary:
Henderson Turf in Franklin, Ohio is seeking a Farm Manager for our Franklin, Ohio sod farm. This position has significant autonomy and requires a broad skill-set, including general management capability, attention to detail, “get-it-done” attitude, superior
interpersonal skills and in-depth agricultural experience.

Henderson Turf is a family owned business that has been serving the sod industry since 1960. Henderson’s provides retail and wholesale sod sales from our 800 acre farm in Ohio and 400 acre farm in Indiana.
Relationships
The Farm Manager works with Executive Management to effectively manage planting and harvesting for all farm operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to efficiently manage the farm operations to ensure excellent customer satisfaction so
the site is able to meet financial goals and objectives by:
● Leading and managing turf planting, care and harvesting
● Leading farm operations managers
● Lead field operations, including tillage, planting, cultivation, harvest, and cover crop establishment
● Scheduling of irrigation, fertilizer applications, and chemical applications
● Support innovation in agronomic, equipment, and storage practices
● Providing general management leadership to the farming operations
● Manage location personnel and motivate team seasonal employees
● Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by employees (Operations, Safety)
● Consistently communicate with management about farm activities, challenges and innovative solutions
● Maintain P&L responsibility with significant focus on cost management as well as managing site budget
● Manage purchasing of supplies, equipment, and inputs
Required Position Qualifications
● Demonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding leadership ability and exceptional interpersonal skills
● High School Diploma or equivalent
● Self-directed individual who leads projects to identify and implement solutions with team input
● Financial management experience and budgeting skills
● Adaptability to changing situations and have the ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple priorities
● Organizational and project management skills and experience leading and managing people
● Ability to acquire and hold a valid US driver’s license and successfully pass vehicle insurance verification
Preferred Position Qualifications
● Bachelors of Science degree in an Ag related field
● Bilingual in English/Spanish
● Previous experience working with Turf & Farm Management
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. Henderson Turf has a benefits package, including health, 401k, company phone, company vehicle, and profit sharing.
