MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
The Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA) Foundation offers the TOCA marketing internship.
The marketing internship program is funded through the TOCA Foundation by Den and Sandy Gardner and Jose Milan. The Gardners are owners of Gardner & Gardner Communications, a marketing/association management firm based in New Prague, MN. Milan is the Turf & Ornamentals Global Market Manager for Bayer.
Under this new internship program, TOCA will coordinate the internship program and selection. TOCA member companies that are involved in public relations activities will host the intern. This is a five-year commitment by Milan and the Gardners.
- Internship will be worth $5,000 — $4,000 as a stipend and $1,000 to be used to attend and assist in the execution of the TOCA annual meeting in Portland, Maine, April 25-27, 2023.
- The intern will attend the annual meeting and then begin their 8 week-long internship.
- Student applications are due Tuesday, February 24, 2023.
- Intern will be chosen by a representative of the host organization, along with a representative of the sponsoring parties, plus one board member and/or the chair of the TOCA Futures Committee.
This year’s TOCA internship host is Sod Solutions. Visit them online at www.sodsolutions.com
The TOCA intern will work with Sod Solutions sales, marketing and customer service teams to understand the company’s four business units, shadow multiple roles and learn about the turfgrass industry. The intern will have the opportunity to shadow and learn about multiple roles at Sod Solutions.
Some of these roles include:
– Educational content writing and editing.
– Marketing content, creative and strategy development.
– Customer service communication and problem-solving.
The entire Sod Solutions team looks forward to working with a young professional interested in this industry and for the opportunity to educate and show them the many ways we work with the turfgrass industry on a daily basis. We have four business units that our marketing team assists, which would allow for this individual to assist and shadow a large number of content projects.
